The six course French dinner I'm preparing for friends is coming along nicely. Julia Child can keep her complicated easy beef stew bourguignon recipe because I know the methods behind it. It's no different than Chicken Marsala or Beef Stroganoff.
Heat the oil at a large nonstick skillet over medium-high temperatures. Add half of the simple beef stew and prepare food, turning occasionally until lightly browned. Which has a slotted spoon, transfer meat into the slowcooker or crockpot. Repeat the procedure with the keeping beef.
A hybrid of the turnip is the rutabaga, generally yellow on the inside, with smooth leaves, almost like a cabbage. It is also a cool-weather grown vegetable, and takes longer to maturity than the turnip. It holds texture better than the turnip when cooked, and is more nutritious. It may be electronically programmable. Set your contents inside and program the time for it to start and finish cooking. You can have ready to eat meals, at the perfect serving temperature, when you come home from work or school. Now, that is convenient!
The Sangiovese red grape got its name from "sanguis Jovis" or "blood of Jupiter." Dating to pre-Roman times, Sangiovese is one of the two predominant red grapes in Italy, where it is extensively planted, mostly in the central and southern regions. The first meal involved slow cooker ham slow cooked with soft wheat kernels and merguez (a spicy lamb sausage) accompanied by a dill pickle. The wine was mouth-filling and showed great balance. It tasted of plums. It kept its power in the presence of Turkish harissa, a spicy condiment. I tasted some tobacco. The wine was moderately long.
Treat yourself to a small adventure in the bulk section of a health foods store or a spice store. Look at the colors and textures of the herbs and spices. For any that look interesting, open the canister and take a whiff of the fragrance (but not too close and avoid breathing into or near the contents!) See if a couple options don't call out for experimentation.
If you're not a store brand shopper because you've been concerned about quality, give them a try. They're usually every bit as good as other products, simple beef stew instant pot the price is right. Kroger brand foods convinced me.
